Toitū carbonreduce organisation certified
Lincoln University has Toitū Envirocare carbonreduce certification to help track its progress towards becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and achieving carbon zero by 2050
Lincoln University has set an ambitious and pragmatic target of 2,500 tonnes of CO2-e by 2030, which is a 70% reduction compared to the 8,555 tonnes of CO2-e baseline in 2019. The carbon reduction target refers to all activities happening on campus, reflecting the boundaries and activities included in the Toitū Envirocare carbon audit (including BHU and JML). Note that the other farms will have separate target and emissions reduction plans.
Methodology
The Toitū certification involves an audit to certify the measurement of the University’s greenhouse gas emissions on campus, and a commitment to reducing emissions from a 2019 baseline.
The audit covers the 120ha campus environment, with a separate reporting for the farms.
Campus certification
The Toitū carbonreduce certification is in accordance with ISO 14064-1.
