UV levels

Note: We have hot sun in New Zealand and high UV levels so it is easy to burn. Ensure you have a strong sunscreen SPF50+.

 

Clothing

If travelling to New Zealand in autumn or winter, bring warm clothing with you as winters are cold in New Zealand. Jerseys, jackets, hats and gloves are a good idea for winter. If it is not possible to bring this clothing with you there are shops near Lincoln that provide this type of clothing at a reasonable price.

Stores closest to Lincoln are Rolleston (bus 820  or a 10 minute drive) and The Hub, Hornby (a 15 minute drive).

Located in the Riccarton Westfield Shopping Centre (www.westfield.co.nz/riccarton), which is one of the largest malls in Christchurch and is on the local bus route from Lincoln Bus 80 - or 20-minute car drive.

Electricity

In New Zealand the supply voltage is 230V. If the appliance is a single voltage-rated appliance, it will need to operate at the same voltage as the supply voltage of the country i.e., 230V.  

The below image shows what power outlets in NZ look like. Most power outlets also have an adjacent switch on the wall to turn the power on, so be sure to check that if you have plugged something in and it does not work.
