• Faculty welcome: Meet faculty staff, connect with classmates, and learn key programme details.

• Faculty content and academic skills session: Covering learning resources, academic integrity, and more.
• Student support services expo: Talk to the support staff and find out how to get help when you need it.
• Programme/pathway certificate/diploma induction: To get course advice, timetable support and enrolment help

International Student Orientation (for international students)

A compulsory session to help you transition into life and study in New Zealand. 

Under-18 Orientation

For new students under 18 years who don’t live in campus accommodation, offering support and guidance to help you settle into university life.

Explore tailored sessions designed for your specific academic pathway:

• Sub-degree & Undergraduate Students: Academic advice and skills workshops for bachelor’s degrees and diplomas.
• Postgraduate Taught Students: Sessions focused on coursework, programme expectations, and academic success.
• Postgraduate Research Students: Meet your research director, discover resources, and network with peers.

Make good use of the support available throughout Orientation (9-17 February, excluding the weekend):

• Enrolment help, course advice and timetable support: Get help completing your enrolment, choosing your courses, building your timetable, and getting prepared for the semester.
• Student ID card: Make sure your enrolment is completed before collecting your student ID card from Ivey Hall (Library).
• IT help: Set up your devices for campus use, access free campus Wi-Fi, Akoraka, and printing services.
• Campus tours: Familiarise yourself with key locations and facilities.
• StudyLink support: Get help managing your StudyLink account and addressing questions about student loans and allowances. Available at the following times and locations:

10am to 2pm, Wednesday 11 February (SoLA)

10am to 2pm, Monday 16 February (SVC)

10am to 2pm, Monday 23 February (SVC)

• Sign language interpreters:
  Available at the LU official welcome and faculty welcome.
• Need a break?
  The Chill Space is here for YOU. A place to relax, recharge, and explore your senses. Everyone is welcome, located in Level 1 (to the right) Ivey Hall (Library), and Level 1 in the Forbes building.
• Whānau lounge:
  For family and friends to relax while supporting you. Located in SoLA

Drop in anytime during Orientation at Ivey Hall and SoLA for these services.

Be prepared for Orientation with:

• Orientation registration confirmation email(s): You'll need the QR code on the email to check in at your Faculty Orientation Day and International Student Orientation (if applicable).
• Device: Bring your laptop or tablet to get help setting up campus Wi-Fi, Akoraka, your timetable, printing services, and more.
• Original documents: Bring your passport, NZ driver’s licence, or birth certificate to complete your enrolment and collect your student ID.
• Enrolment confirmation: Have a copy or email of your enrolment confirmation handy for student ID card collection.
• Comfortable shoes for campus tours.
