You will critically engage with discourses, theories, frameworks and models for indigenous planning and development, indigeneity and being indigenous.

The aim of this course is to provide an advanced level of study of indigenous planning and development.

What you will learn

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Critically analyse concepts and characteristics of indigeneity.
  2. Discuss frameworks/approaches for better understanding the current state and needs of indigenous communities.
  3. Critically apply knowledge gained in this subject to an evaluation, critique and insight into how the situation of indigenous peoples can be improved.
  4. Apply indigenous planning and development as a process or approach for managing change within indigenous communities. 
  5. Write and speak knowledgeably about another indigenous group or community.
