Techniques of landscape analysis and design. The statutory and policy context of site design.

The main aims of this course are:

  1. To gain an understanding of the techniques of landscape description, analysis and evaluation.
  2. The application of this knowledge to landscape change and landscape design.

What you will learn

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Appraise the landscape through the lens of the physical, associative, and sensory attributes.           
  2. Assess landscape characteristics that inform site-appropriate design response.            
  3. Produce analytical and design ideas. 
  4. Develop a design response that responds to community values.
  5. Apply Māori and indigenous concepts in a design proposal.
